Menicon product range and how to use them

The Menicon product range was founded by Mr Kyoichi Tanaka in 1951. Menicon is the largest manufacturer of hard contact lenses in Japan, currently selling in over 80 countries.

Our Menicon product range is everything you need for both eye care and eye healing, which is why our Menicon product range is so varied.

We offer you the following solutions for daily or weekly cleaning and disinfecting of hard contact lenses:

Menicon MeniCare Pure

Menicon's MeniCare Pure multi-purpose solution is used for gas permeable lenses. It provides enhanced eye comfort by increasing hydration and reducing protein deposits. MeniCare Plus solution is durable for up to 3 years when stored safely at room temperature. An advantage of MeniCare Plus solution is that it eliminates microorganisms and insoluble particles of any size. MeniCare Plus cleans, removes protein deposits, disinfects and keeps your eyes clean.

How do we use MeniCare Pure?

• Wash your hands thoroughly before coming into direct contact with the lens surface.
• For 20 seconds rub the lens surface with a few drops of MeniCare Pure solution.
• With MeniCare Pure fill the lens case and soak the lenses for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
• Before inserting the lenses into the eye, it is necessary to rinse them with MeniCare Pure solution.
• After the lenses are used, the lens case should be rinsed with MeniCare Pure and dried thoroughly.

Menicon MeniCare Plus

Menicon's MeniCare Plus multi-purpose solution is only used for hard, gas permeable contact lenses. This solution gives you increased comfort due to its action, increases hydration, removes protein deposits, disinfects, rinses and keeps your eyes clean. With this MeniCare Plus solution, your eyes feel comfortable, always moist thanks to the tears evenly distributed on the lens surface. MeniCare Plus is also used as a rinsing solution before inserting lenses.

How do we use MeniCare Plus?

• Wash your hands thoroughly.
• Remove your lenses, place them in the palm of your hand one at a time and apply a few drops of
• MeniCare Plus and rub them gently on both surfaces.
• Rinse the lens thoroughly with MeniCare plus.
• Place the lens in the case filled with fresh MeniCare Plus solution and leave to soak for at least 5 minutes.
• Lens wear can be continued if necessary.
• Reinsert your lenses with MeniCare Plus.
• Rinse the lens case with MeniCare Plus and dry thoroughly.

Menicon Progent

Our solution, Menicon Progent removes proteins, is used for gas permeable lenses, hard and rigid lenses. Menicon Progent is a combination of 2 sterile solutions: Progent A which, contains sodium hypochlorite, sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, purified water (NaClO 20,3 mg, purified water up to 5ml/dose) and Progent B in which we find potassium bromide, sodium carbonate and purified water (KBr 30,75 mg, purified water up to 5ml/dose).

How to use Menicon Progent?

• Rinse lenses thoroughly with MeniCare cleaning solution.
• Before putting the Progent A solution in the bottom of the holder and the Progent B solution in the special holder put the lenses in the housing, right lens -Right/R and left lens Left/L.
• Once you have placed the lenses in the housing and added the two solutions Progent A and Progent B close the special holder and shake a few times.
• Leave the lenses to soak in the Menicon Progent solution for up to 30 minutes. CAUTION: Do not touch lenses before rinsing!
• After this step it is recommended to rinse the contact lenses with a hard lens cleaning solution or saline solution (MeniCare Pure, MeniCare Plus).
• This treatment is recommended every two weeks but in the meantime a confirmation from the specialist is good.
• Rinse the Progent holder with saline and leave it open to dry.

Menicon spray & clean 15 ml

Menicon spray & clean is recommended for daily use together with MeniCare Plus. Our Menicon Spray & clean is recommended every time after lens removal, as the first necessary step in the care of gas permeable lenses. Spray & Clean is compatible with all gas permeable contact lenses, it is a preservative-free solution that cleans lenses in a gentle, non-abrasive way.

How to use Menicon spray & clean?

• Before use wash your hands thoroughly and make sure they are clean.
• Remove the lens from your eye and place it in the palm of your hand.
• On both surfaces of the lens spray Spray & Clean and rub gently with your fingers.
• Place the contact lenses in the special holder and rinse them thoroughly with a special solution such as MeniCare Plus or MeniCare Pure.
• The next step is to place the contact lenses in the special holder which you fill with MeniCare Plus or MeniCare Pure solution.
• Before use the lens requires rinsing with MeniCare.
